According to the report, just 56% of students searching for accommodation in Leicester can afford £150 per person per week or more, significantly below the national average. This has driven stronger demand for shared housing among domestic students, with 3+ bed properties accounting for over 60% of searches in Q1 2026 and peaking at 64.8% in October.
However, this trend sits alongside growing demand from international students, who are more likely to prioritise convenience, security and all-inclusive living.
