Simple Ways to Improve Your Mindset Every Day With Tim Han

    OliviaBy OliviaOctober 12, 2026Updated:October 12, 2026No Comments8 Mins Read

Ask ten people if they feel confident and nine will say “not really, not always.” The tenth is either lying or hasn’t had a bad Monday yet.

Here’s the good news. Confidence isn’t something a lucky few were born with while everyone else got skipped. It works more like a skill, and skills get better when you use them. Tim Han has been saying this since he started Success Insider in 2016. He goes into it properly in his book, Follow Your Heart and Take Action, which shares seven practical secrets for building the mindset behind a life you actually want to live.

You don’t need the whole book to get going today, though. Start with what’s below.

      • 4. What is the LMA course by Tim Han, and who is it for?

Listen to How You Talk to Yourself

Spend one day just noticing the voice in your head. Don’t fix anything. Just listen.

Most people are a little horrified. “You’re going to mess this up.” “Why would anyone listen to you?” “Everyone can tell you’re faking it.” You’d never say that to a friend who was nervous before a presentation, yet you’ll say it to yourself on the walk to the meeting room without even blinking.

The problem is that your brain takes those lines seriously. It starts hunting for proof.

So when a nasty thought shows up, skip the forced “I’m amazing!” routine. You won’t believe it anyway. Go for something honest. “I’m bad at this” becomes “I’m new at this, and new feels clumsy.” Same situation, much kinder, and a lot more useful.

Dig Up the Beliefs You Never Chose

Underneath the daily chatter sit older beliefs, the ones you picked up as a kid and never double-checked. Maybe a teacher called you quiet and it stuck. Maybe one embarrassing moment at fifteen turned into “I’m just not a people person.”

Those beliefs set your ceiling without asking permission. You pass on the promotion, keep your idea to yourself, and call it being realistic.

Try asking where the belief came from. Whose voice is it, really? And is it true, or just familiar? Those two things get mixed up all the time, and the gap between them is exactly where change happens.

Quit Waiting Until You Feel Ready

Plenty of us wait for confidence to show up before we act. Ready never really arrives. You can read one more book, watch one more video, and still feel the same flutter in your stomach.

Think back to learning to drive. Awful at first. Hands gripping the wheel, heart going, sure you’d hit something. Now you do it half asleep, singing along to the radio. Nothing magical happened in between. You just kept going until your brain stopped treating it as a threat.

So pick one thing you’ve been dodging and shrink it until it’s almost silly. Send the email. Post the video. Ask the question. If procrastination is what keeps getting in your way, our piece on destroying laziness and procrastination covers the daily habit that breaks the cycle.

Keep the Small Promises You Make to Yourself

Self-trust is the quiet engine behind confidence, and you build it one kept promise at a time.

Think about what happens when you say “I’ll get up at six” and then hit snooze. Or “I’ll start on Monday” and it turns into Friday. Each one is a tiny crack. Pile up enough of them and some part of you stops believing your own word. No affirmation can patch that.

Go the other way. Make promises so small they’re almost embarrassing, and keep every single one. Ten minutes of exercise. A page of writing. One awkward conversation this week. After a few weeks something shifts. You start seeing yourself as a person who follows through, because that’s what the evidence says.

    Practise Being Uncomfortable

Your comfort zone is good at its job. It’ll hand you a dozen excellent reasons to stay put: bad timing, not enough experience, what if it goes wrong?

Try reading discomfort differently. It isn’t a stop sign, it’s usually a sign you’re stretching. Nerves before a hard conversation mean the conversation matters, not that you should skip it. So do one slightly uncomfortable thing a day. Speak first in a group. Say no without three paragraphs of apology. Small reps, repeated, change what feels normal.

Set Boundaries (Yes, It’s a Confidence Thing)

This one surprises people. But if you say yes to everything, you’re teaching yourself that your time doesn’t count. If you bite your tongue every time to keep the peace, you’re teaching yourself your opinion isn’t welcome.

A boundary says the opposite: I matter enough to protect my energy. Start small and say it calmly, no big speech needed. Our guide to setting healthy boundaries in real life walks you through it. And if you’re curious why some people bounce back from setbacks faster than others, have a look at how highly successful people think. They tend to treat a setback as information, not a verdict.

So Who Is Tim Han, and Why Listen?

Tim Han founded Success Insider, a personal growth company that began life as a YouTube channel. In 2016 it became one of the fastest growing personal growth channels on the platform. These days the community reaches people in more than 59 countries, and over 500,000 subscribers get his free weekly mentoring on being more productive, confident, and happy.

What keeps people coming back is that it’s practical. No hype, no magic tricks. He teaches things you can try this week, aimed at the stuff that actually holds people back: fear, old beliefs, procrastination, and a past they haven’t dealt with yet. If you want the full story, it’s on the About Tim Han Inspiring Journey

If You Want More Than an Article

A good article can spark a shift. Making it last usually takes structure, some support, and people who are walking the same road.

That’s the thinking behind the courses at Success Insider, including the Life Mastery Achievers (LMA) program. It’s set up to take you through mindset, emotions, and personal growth with step-by-step tools you can start using straight away, alongside a community working on similar goals. Have a look at the Success Insider courses, and see what students say on the reviews page.

Prefer to go at your own pace? Grab Tim’s book, Follow Your Heart and Take Action, on Amazon. It’s a handy way to get his core ideas in one place first.

Not ready to commit to anything? Try Tim’s free online masterclass. It’s a low-pressure way to see if his approach suits you.

A 30-Day Routine You Can Actually Stick To

Nothing fancy. Just try this for a month:

    1. Morning: Write down one thing you’ll do today that moves you forward.
    2. Midday: Do one small thing that makes you squirm a little.
    3. Evening: Jot down one win and one lesson.

Five minutes each. Showing up daily beats going hard for three days and vanishing.

    The Bottom Line

You don’t have to turn into a different person to feel confident. Change how you talk to yourself. Question the beliefs you inherited. Keep your word to yourself, even on the small stuff. And act before the feeling shows up. Give that enough time and the confidence tends to follow.

Start small, start today. And if you’d like a guide along the way, Tim Han and the Success Insider team are there when you’re ready.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Can you really change your mindset, or is it fixed?

Yes, there is. Mindset is basically a mental habit, and habits can be relearned through practice.

    2. How long does it take to build confidence?

It depends on the level from which you start and how frequently you practice. Some results can come in just a few weeks of consistent daily work. But true confidence that comes from experience is usually developed over a period of months.

    3. What if I fail while trying to build confidence?

You will probably fail at some point, but it is perfectly fine. Try to learn from this mistake and continue with your practice. Confidence is developed by getting back up after a fall, not by not falling down in the first place.

    4. What is the LMA course by Tim Han, and who is it for?

LMA means Life Mastery Achievers, one of the primary training programs offered by Success Insider. This program is ideal for those who feel that they have hit a roadblock and need to change their mindset and would prefer to follow a structured program instead of trying everything themselves.
