Rent a Car in Dubai – Your Complete Guide to Your Next Vehicle

    JustinBy JustinFebruary 22, 2024No Comments6 Mins Read

If you are new to the UAE or just here for a vacation in the sun, renting a car is a great way to see everything the country has to offer. For those who need to get from A to B but aren’t ready to buy a car yet, a rental set of wheels is perfect. Renting a car while you’re here on vacation allows you to make your own plans and make sure you don’t miss out on a lot of must-see sights. Tourists from some countries can drive in the UAE with the license they got back home. After you fill out some forms, you can rent your desired car.

The Ministry of the Interior states that travelers coming to the Emirates from the GCC and some other countries do not need an international driving permit to drive.

Where can you rent a car?

A lot of choices are available. Dubai is home to all of the world’s car rental companies, and some of them have booths at the airport. A car can be rented by the day, week, or month. The price will change based on the company you rent from and the car you choose. A Hyundai Santafe can be rented from Friends Car Rental for Dh 150 per day, Dh 550 for a week, or Dh 1,500 for the month. A Range Rover Sport from the same company costs Dh 550 per day to rent if you want a strong SUV. The weekly price goes up to Dh 3000, and the monthly price goes up to Dh 10000.

For a much more luxurious experience in Dubai, you can rent a Ferrari but expect to pay a lot more. A Ferrari SF90 Stradale will cost you Dh 8,000 per day, according to the website FriendsCarRental.Com. Additionally, you can rent an Aston Martin Vantage for Dh3,500 per day. Customers can also rent a car at Dubai airport.

How to rent a car in Dubai the basics:

You should make sure you have all of the paperwork and documents you need before you rent a car.

International Driver’s Permit: Residents with passports from any GCC country, the UK, the US, or Canada can drive in Dubai using the license they got in their home country. Visitors from other countries need to have a valid International Driving Permit (IDP). As the rules are subject to change, it is best to contact rental companies directly to find out if they will accept your license from your home country or if you need to get an IDP first.

Age: You have to be at least 21 to rent a car in Dubai.

Credit card: Most car rental companies in Dubai will only accept credit cards as payment. If you get fined or charged extra fees, the credit card will be used instantly to cover them. Also, You can rent a car without deposit or credit card.

Insurance: There is third-party insurance that comes with all Dubai car hires by law. Some types of trip insurance may cover rental cars, but most rental car companies will charge extra for extra insurance, which can be expensive if you decide on the spot. Make plans ahead of time to get the best deal on the right insurance for you.

    Car rental options to consider

There are a lot of places to rent cars in Dubai, but Friends Car Rental is one of the best. Before making a decision, do some research, such as reading reviews online. There are many places in the city, including Dubai International (DXB) airport, where you can rent a car, though the prices may be a little higher. If you’re only going to be in Dubai for a few days, you should be able to quickly find a place close to you. Most major shopping malls have rental car desks, or you can look on FriendsCarRental.com.

Going to a car rental desk or office and signing an agreement should be all it takes to rent a car unless you’ve reserved it in advance. You’ll have to return the car to the same place where you picked it up, so keep that in mind when making your plans.

You can pick from a variety of cars at FriendsCarRental, from small cars to SUVs. Choose the one that fits your needs and your goals. A Nissan Petrol might fit your family of five, but it might not be very comfortable for anyone. However, keep in mind that there may be fewer cars available if you go during busy times, like a big trade show.

Read up on Dubai’s road rules

Before you drive in the city, make sure you know the following rules:

    • Drive on the right: If you’re from a place where people drive on the left, get ready to switch sides.
    • Please note that speed limits are given in kilometers per hour, not miles.
    • Minimum speed limits: On busy roads, you may need to drive at least 60 km/h.
    • Be aware of speed cameras: Dubai cares about road safety, and if you get caught speeding, you could get a big fine.
    • Avoid driving under the influence: There is no set limit on how much alcohol a driver can legally possess in Dubai. So, don’t drink alcohol to avoid a huge fine or jail at the time of driving.

Book A Luxury Car and Other Adventures

If you’ve always dreamed of driving a luxury or sports car, Dubai might be the place for you for luxury car rental. You can rent the latest models from Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and more.

Local rental companies that specialize in this type of hire will probably have luxurious vehicles available. Expect to pay more and put down a bigger deposit, among other things. Tried and tested companies like Friends Car Rental in Dubai Investment Park, Al Quoz, Downtown, Barsha, and Business Bay is the best options for luxury cars. Keep in mind that Dubai’s speed limits don’t change, even if the car can go 200 km/h!

If you want to do other things with your car, like off-roading or driving in the desert, you will need to rent from a company that specializes in those activities. Most rental companies don’t let you take their cars off-road. If you want to take your hire off-roading for the first time, you should never go alone and should always have another car with you.
