The Origin of the Chinese Tea

According to Chinese mythology, the tea plant originated in China approximately 60 to 70 million years ago. Emperor Shennong discovered this plant. Some people believe that Buddhist monks introduced tea to China.

However, knowing who introduced tea to the world is optional. What matters is its benefits and positive impact on the lives of many.

    Types of Chinese Tea

There are several types of Chinese tea. Each type is derived from the tea plant Camellia Sinensis. The difference is in the process that the leaves undergo, which gives all the different teas different properties. The following are the types of Chinese teas.

    • Green Tea
    • Black Tea
    • Oolong Tea
    • White Tea
    • Yellow Tea

Scientific Research Carried Out on Chinese Tea

For a long time, Chinese teas have been a central topic of research carried out by scientists. The reason for carrying out this research is simple and relatively straightforward. These researches were carried out to find out why tea has a relaxing effect on the mind and body and how this beverage helps to increase focus to gain more productivity.

How Does the Chinese Tea Relax Your Mind to Increase Your Productivity?

The research results have been quite surprising. These experiments have uncovered the reasons for the several benefits that tea provides, solving the mystery of its wonders. The following components are found in the tea that help with achieving mental relaxation, better focus, and increased Creativity.

    • Antioxidants

The main component that is found in all the teas is the anti-oxidants. These antioxidants help make the body stronger and defend it against several fatal diseases. The antioxidants present in tea are polyphenols, which are an excellent aid for the human body and relax it.

    • Caffeine

You might have seen people who work long shifts or night shifts consuming caffeine, either in the form of coffee or energy drinks. Caffeine helps improve focus, but the dosage is terrible for human health and can prove to be dangerous. However, in tea, there is a magical component that saves the body from the side effects of caffeine.

    • L-theanine

This is the magical component present in the tea. L-theanine is an amino acid that lowers the rate of caffeine absorption in the bloodstream and makes a little caffeine viable for a more extended period. It also helps to relax the mind.

    • Catechins

Catechins are optional and not present in every type of Chinese tea. The only teas containing catechins are Green tea and Oolong tea. The other types of tea lose these catechins during the production process. These catechins help improve metabolism and help people lose weight.

How Much Chinese Tea Should You Consume?

Although tea has numerous health benefits, it should be consumed within a specific limit, and overconsumption can be dangerous. Many experts agree that a maximum of four cups of tea and no more than that is recommended to maintain good health and avoid any unwanted complications.

    How to Brew Chinese Tea?

Brewing the Chinese tea is no complicated task. All of the different types of Chinese tea have the same brewing process. The only difference between the different types of best loose leaf tea that are brewed is the steeping time, which is mentioned in the tea box. Here are the steps for brewing the tea:

    • Take water and boil it.
    • Add the tea as soon as the water is boiled. If using loose tea, add a tea bag or a teaspoon per cup.
    • Steep the tea according to the specified time.
    • Pour in a cup and serve.

    Conclusion

In conclusion, Chinese loose-leaf tea improves focus and helps relax the body and mind due to the catechins, antioxidants, and L-theanine it contains.
