Studying abroad has become a dream for many Indian students due to globalization and the plethora of opportunities it offers. However, the cost of higher education has increased exponentially, making it more expensive. The good news is that education loans offer great financial support to students, easing the financial burden.

Credila is one of the top NBFCs offering education loans to students. However, the interest rates play an important role in determining how much you have to repay. In this blog, we will discuss the latest interest rates of the Credila education loans and their effects.

    Credila Education Loan

Credila is one of the largest Non-Banking Financial Corporations, specializing in offering educational loans. Credila has offered education loans to thousands of students for studying in India and abroad.

Credila offers education loans to cover tuition fees, living expenses, stationery, travel expenses, and other miscellaneous expenses related to education. However, the most important factor is the interest rate, which impacts repayment. The processing fee for Credila education loans is up to 1% of the loan amount.

Let us now understand the interest rates that Credila has for educational loans.

    Credila Education Loans Interest Rates

The interest rates for Credila Education Loans may vary based on various factors, such as the collateral involvement, the university the student chooses, the course that the student is studying, etc.

The following are the interest rates of the Credila Education Loans.

    Floating

    • Secured Loans -starting from 9.95% p.a
    • Unsecured loans-starting from 11.25% p.a

    Fixed

    • For loans with tenure up to 5 years, 1% above the floating rate
    • For loans with a tenure of 5 years or more, 1.5% above the floating rate

The floating interest rates are linked to Credila’s benchmark rate, which means they may change during the loan tenure. For example, factors such as repo rate or reverse repo rate can significantly impact interest rates.

Applying for Credila Education loans through WeMakeScholars can ensure fast loan approvals. We have a team of dedicated financial officers who lend support throughout the loan process. Our financial officers will provide end-to-end support, making your education loan process stress-free.

    Credila Secured Education Loans

    • Credila offers both secured education loans and unsecured education loans. Students, when applying for an education loan, be sure to check if you need to pledge collateral or not.
    • Secured education loans or Collateral Education loans are loans in which collateral is involved. The applicant is required to pledge collateral/assets against the loan amount as security. The asset could be a House, Land, FDs, etc.
    • This is to reduce the risk associated with lending educational loans. The interest rate is lower compared to unsecured education loans. But the drawback is that you may lose your asset if you default.
    • The interest rate for Credila secured education loans starts from 9.95%. Pledging collateral can increase the education loan approval, and students can also get higher loan amounts.

    Credila Unsecured Education Loans

    • Unsecured education loans or non-collateral education loans are loans that do not require collateral. Here student is not required to pledge any form of collateral as security against the loan amount.
    • Students are required to meet the eligibility standard mentioned by the lender. Since collateral is not involved in this, the lender has stricter eligibility rules, such as the student should choose the top university, STEM courses are preferred, and the student must choose to study in the top country.
    • A co-applicant or financial co-applicant plays a key role in unsecured education loans. The co-applicant’s financial status is considered before offering unsecured education loans. This is done to check the repayment capacity of the applicant. The rate of interest for an unsecured education loan is higher compared to secured education loans.
    • The interest rate for Credila Unsecured education loans starts from 11.25%. The loan amount would be limited in unsecured education loans, as no security is involved.

    Floating vs Fixed Interest Rates

Credila primarily offers education loans on floating interest rates. However, students need to understand how they differ from a fixed rate of interest so that they can make an informed decision on repayment plans.

    Floating Interest Rates

    • The floating interest rate changes based on the market conditions and the lender’s benchmark rate.
    • The interest may decrease if the market falls, which eventually decreases the EMI.
    • Sometimes the interest may increase if the rate rises in the market, which makes repayment more expensive.

    Fixed Interest Rates

    • The interest remains the same for the entire loan tenure in fixed interest rates.
    • No risks if there is a sudden hike in the market.
    • EMIs stay constant throughout the repayment period.

    Country-wise Interest Rate Variation

The Credila education loans interest rate varies depending on the study destination. Credila assesses the employment potential of the students in that particular country and the overall demand for courses in that region.

    The United States

The US is Credila’s largest market, because of its top universities and other factors, such as the employability opportunities and the future earning potential of the students.

Other countries(UK, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, EUROPE, etc.)

The interest rates are slightly higher due to various post-study conditions and job market conditions.

An education loan sanction is crucial for funding the education of many students. However, students often struggle to get their loans sanctioned without the right guidance. WeMakeScholars can help you in such situations. Our team is dedicated to assisting students in receiving education loan approvals on time. We provide complete education loan assistance to students applying through us.

    Conclusion

Choosing the right education loan is crucial for students to avoid the negative impacts of education loans. Credila offers education loans to students for studying in India and abroad with competitive interest rates. In this blog, we have discussed the Credila education loans interest rates along with how interest rates change based on market fluctuations.
