UFC returns to Canada: what to expect in 2025–2026?

    OliviaBy OliviaJuly 25, 2025Updated:July 30, 2025No Comments5 Mins Read

The UFC has not held tournaments in Canada for two years, and fans have missed it. Large arenas in Montreal and Toronto used to be filled to capacity. Now everything is changing — the organizers are preparing a grand return for 2025 and 2026. The cities are already discussing upcoming events and potential locations. This is a chance to return Canada to the top countries with the biggest fights.

This return will be a real celebration for everyone who has been waiting for news about the UFC in Canada. Organizers are already meeting with local partners to prepare the arena, security, and logistics. Active cooperation with Canadian sports schools and MMA clubs is also planned. This could give a boost to the development of a new generation of fighters who are just dreaming of stepping into the Octagon. While the date of the first tournament has not been officially announced, fans are closely following the news and preparing for the big return.

New fights and bets: what’s in store for fans?

In addition, the UFC plans to give new Canadian fighters a chance to perform at home. Stars such as Charles Jourdain and Mike Mullott could headline fights in Toronto or Vancouver. This will be a special reward for athletes who started out in local gyms. Viewers will also have the chance to make predictions and place bets through UFC betting Canada, which offers bonuses. Such tournaments increase interest in the sport not only among fans but also among new players.

For young Canadian fighters, this is an opportunity to get known in the big league. It always brings confidence and energy to performing in front of a home crowd. Performance on such a stage is a start for a fantastic career for the debutantes in the UFC rankings. Appreciation for the event is just around the corner as the anticipation grows. Impressive performances at home sooner or later attract the attention of the media, sponsors, and even foreign promoters.

What is there apart from the fights?

The UFC is no longer promoting fights, but entire weekends of entertainment that will attract fans from across the nation. In addition to fan zones and meet-and-greets with fighters, promoters are now offering interactive experiences for guests. The most popular are crash games: https://melbet-ca.com/en/games/crash which are perfect for entertainment. It is simple, quick, and offers a little bit of a thrill between fights. All of these provide the impression of an actual festival, rather than a sports event.

There will be special photo zones, fan merchandise, and virtual reality in which you can “try on” the fighter’s position. This makes the event interesting for both adults and teenagers who just started discovering the world of MMA.

The mood of such tournaments is close to that of a big sports festival where everyone can find something for himself. Individuals travel from other towns solely to spend the weekend with friends or loved ones in a fashionable environment. The UFC is not about making money and selling fights. It’s also about making memories — and that’s what’s drawing more and more individuals.

Which cities are likely to host tournaments?

Not every Canadian city is ready for the UFC, but there are two that could be considered. Toronto is a historically fighting city and possesses an excellent arena. Vancouver and Montreal also have a possibility if they can demonstrate sufficient support. The promoters do look at Calgary, Edmonton, or even Halifax as possibilities for smaller events. The UFC also wants to plant combat sports all over the nation in one or two major centers.

    Potential cities:

    • Toronto — most fights, strongest fans
    • Vancouver — average number of events, stable support
    • Montreal — traditionally active audience, but has recently lost momentum
    • Calgary/Edmonton — could get test tournaments
    • Halifax — an unexpected candidate for fight night

The UFC wants to increase its presence not only in conventional places. Also in emerging markets where interest in mixed martial arts is increasing at a very rapid pace. Conducting tournaments in smaller-cited places will attract new fans and provide local enthusiasts the opportunity to witness contests in person.

It also provides regional MMA clubs, instructors, and aspiring fighters with only television exposure and an opportunity to develop. The UFC recognizes the potential to develop stars of tomorrow right here in these markets. It is a strategy that keeps the organization closer to the fans and facilitates the expansion of MMA throughout Canada.

A new era of Canadian MMA

New players, new towns, and more interactivity are bringing a new day to the UFC in Canada. It’ll be a huge step forward with an opportunity to put the nation on the world MMA map again. Even if you’ve never attended a live show, now’s the time to book your first. Fans are waiting, athletes train, and organizers already booked out the calendar. The UFC is returning home, and everyone has to be on board.
